Meet the new re:lax Acne Facial and re:lax Advanced Acne Facial
Acne can be frustrating, unpredictable and, for many people, deeply personal. It is not just about the odd breakout before a big event. It can show up as blackheads, congestion, inflamed spots, tenderness under the skin, post-breakout marks or a combination of all of the above.
That is why we have created two focused acne treatments at re:lax: our Acne Facial and Advanced Acne Facial.
Both treatments have been designed to support breakout-prone skin, but they do slightly different things. One is a bespoke facial that can be adapted around your skin on the day. The other is a more advanced clinical treatment for clients who may need a stronger, more targeted approach.
Why acne needs a tailored approach
No two acne skins behave in exactly the same way. Some people experience oily congestion and blackheads, while others deal with inflamed, sore breakouts, hormonal flare-ups, sensitivity or post-acne marks. Your skin may also change from month to month, depending on stress, hormones, medication, skincare, diet, sleep and the environment.
That is why our approach is never one-size-fits-all. Before we begin, your therapist will look at what your skin needs on the day and adapt the treatment accordingly. The aim is to support clearer, calmer-looking skin without overwhelming or stripping the barrier.
The re:lax Acne Facial
Our Acne Facial is a bespoke treatment created for clients with acne, congestion and breakout-prone skin. It is a good option if you want a deep, targeted facial that can be adjusted depending on whether your skin is feeling inflamed, congested, sensitive or in need of extra support.
Your treatment may include a double cleanse, exfoliation, steam, blackhead extraction where appropriate, masking, high frequency, LED light therapy, Stamp and Glow, and finishing products chosen for your skin.
Because acne can vary so much, your first appointment may include a slightly longer consultation. This gives your therapist time to understand your skin history, current routine and any triggers or sensitivities before deciding on the best treatment plan.
Who is the Acne Facial best for?
The re:lax Acne Facial is a good choice if you are dealing with regular breakouts, blackheads, blocked pores, congestion or skin that feels unsettled but still needs a careful, considered approach.
It may also be useful if you are new to acne-focused facials and want a treatment that feels targeted but not overly clinical. Your therapist can focus on calming, clearing, extractions, barrier support or a combination of these, depending on what your skin needs.
The re:lax Advanced Acne Facial
Our Advanced Acne Facial is a more intensive 60-minute treatment designed for clients who need a stronger approach to acne and congestion.
The treatment includes cleansing, steam and extractions, an acne peel, LED light therapy if needed, and finishing products such as serum, moisturiser and SPF. A series of treatments is recommended for best results, as acne usually needs consistency rather than a single quick fix.
We recommend booking a discovery call before your first Advanced Acne Facial so we can make sure the treatment is right for your skin and talk you through how to prepare.
Who is the Advanced Acne Facial best for?
The Advanced Acne Facial may be better suited to clients with more persistent congestion, active breakouts, acne-prone skin that has not responded well to standard facials, or those who are ready for a more structured course of treatments.
Because this treatment includes an acne peel, it is not suitable for everyone. It is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients, a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring, certain active autoimmune or dermatological conditions in the treatment area, a history of cutaneous hypopigmentation including vitiligo, or if you have had recent dermatological surgery.
If you are unsure, please speak to our reception team before booking.
What to expect after your treatment?
After an acne-focused facial, your skin may look calmer and fresher, but it is also normal to experience some temporary redness, sensitivity or purging, especially after extractions or peel-based treatments.
Your therapist will talk you through aftercare and recommend how to look after your skin at home. This might include keeping your routine simple, avoiding harsh exfoliation for a short period, wearing SPF, and resisting the temptation to pick or squeeze breakouts.
For more stubborn acne, we may recommend a series of treatments so we can support your skin over time and adjust the plan as it changes.
